Night-blooming Cereus: 2021 Bloom Night #2
Our remaining 2 and a half night-blooming cereus plants bloomed last night and it was our first day of monsoon weather. They gave us a beautiful show!

Last year, we were delighted by the flowers on our five peniocereus greggii, also called night-blooming cereus or queen of the night. This year, we have been watching our night-blooming cereus since the beginning of June. Last week, I took the kids on a vacation to the beach in California and was hoping that these magnificent flowers would wait for me to come back. And they did!
Last night, our last night-blooming cereus graced us with her presence. She was a late bloomer but her flowers were worth the wait! I think it is interesting how each set of flowers had slight differences that to me, gave them personalities.
It's our second bloom night! One of our night blooming cereus bloomed last night, three of the remaining four bloomed tonight. Those three did not disappoint!
I just finished writing a post about the night-blooming cereus in our yard and how they might bloom in the next few days. Then found out that it was possible they would bloom tonight! But it turns out that only one of our night-blooming cereus bloomed tonight and that we still have four left to go.
This week we have pictures of many, many plants and animals: cactus flowers, tree flowers, birds, bunnies, and a sunset. We haven't done very much on the homestead this week, but it certainly has given back to us in the form of beautiful things.
